Child, Teen & Young Adult Telehealth Psychology
Early morning and afternoon appointments available
Dr Brad Marshall has worked with children, teens and young adults for over 15 years. Before specialising in screens and gaming, Brad trained and worked across the full range of child and adolescent psychology, and he brings both to every session.
Appointments are held by secure video, so your child can be seen from home, without the school pick-up rush or a long drive to the clinic. Brad sees children, teens and young adults (and their parents) from anywhere in Australia.
Brad provides evidence-based therapy and parent support for children, teens and young adults experiencing:
Anxiety, worry and school refusal
ADHD and attention difficulties
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) support
Low mood and depression
Behavioural difficulties, anger and emotional outbursts
Pathological demand avoidance (PDA) and persistent demand avoidance profiles
Executive functioning challenges: organisation, planning, time management and study habits
Friendship, social skills and self-esteem
Sleep difficulties
Transitions: starting high school, finishing school, university and first jobs
Problematic screen, gaming and smartphone use
Therapy is tailored to your child's age and needs, and may draw on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), parent-focused approaches and skills-based coaching for executive functioning.
Parent Support
You don't need your child in the room to start. Many families begin with parent sessions, especially when a child is anxious, refusing to attend, or too young for individual therapy.
Parent sessions give you practical strategies for behaviour, routines, emotional outbursts, school refusal and demand avoidance, and a plan you can start using that week.

Yes. Research supports video-based therapy for anxiety, low mood and parenting interventions, and many young people find it easier to talk from home. Brad has run video sessions for almost a decade. Sessions follow the same format as in-clinic appointments.
For younger children, sessions often combine time with the child and time with the parent, so you leave with strategies to use between appointments.

Children from around 6 years, teenagers, and young adults up to late 20s. For children under 6, Brad usually works directly with parents.

It may be worth reaching out if you've noticed:
Ongoing worry, fears or avoidance that stop them doing everyday things
Refusing or struggling to go to school
Frequent meltdowns, anger or outbursts
Withdrawal from friends, family or activities they used to enjoy
Changes in sleep, appetite or energy
Difficulty staying organised, starting tasks or keeping up at school
Tension at home that you've tried to fix and can't
If you're unsure, a first appointment is a good place to get an expert view and a plan.

After your first session, you get access to Brad's online booking calendar. On the morning of each appointment, you receive an email link to join the video call. You just need a quiet, private space and a laptop, tablet or phone with a camera.
Billing, Medicare rebates and receipts are handled automatically, so there's no need to call after your appointment.

This is common, especially with anxiety, demand avoidance or older teens. Many families start with parent sessions. Brad works with you on strategies that make change possible at home, and helps you build towards your child joining when they're ready.

Current fees are $320 for the initial consultation and $290 per 50-minute session thereafter. The Medicare rebate is approximately $98 per eligible session under a mental health treatment plan. We are not a bulk-billing service.

Yes, if eligible. Brad is a registered psychologist. Ask your GP whether your child qualifies for a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which provides Medicare rebates for psychology sessions.
For those who do not wish to claim Medicare rebates you may be eligible to claim from your private health insurance.
